Problem:

  • I want fresh air in my room overnight when sleeping, and so the door must be open
  • When the door is open, it’s too loud

Solution

I have not yet placed any baffling on the inside of the tube, though I did construct it in such a way that one of the panels can be taken off relatively easily.

For the exit hole, I didn’t have a hole saw and so did it the old fashioned way with a chisel:

I placed the entry hold up high so that it didn’t suck in dirt from ground level. This means that the cold air exits at ground level on the inside which isn’t ideal from a cold-air-sinks perspective, but I figured I could always mix the air around on the inside if it became an issue
